Grounded Control: Col. Chris

As one of the Distinguished Speaker Series participants, Canada’s famous guitar-strumming and now retired astronaut, Col. Chris Hatfield, touched down at UBCO, appearing at L’École KLO Middle School to an audience of more than 600 students and later at the Kelowna Community Theatre and another 800 enthused listeners. The self-effacing Hatfield, former commander of the International Space Station (ISS) and global celebrity on the strength of his engaging tweets, videos, songs and music from high overhead, won the crowds with his thoughts and tales of life above and on the ground.
