Open Lines, Open Minds
When you’re one person in a community of hundreds of thousands, on campus and scattered all over the world, it’s not easy to gather together and talk about what’s going on. Which is why UBC launched the Open Minds Forum: a diverse online community of students, alumni, staff and faculty who participate in surveys and discussions to provide feedback on various aspects of their experience with the university. Members have frequent opportunities to voice opinions, influence UBC’s programs and initiatives and stay connected with the university. Kari Grist, UBC managing director of communications and marketing, says the forum operates on “almost a real-time basis” and is designed to “understand what people are thinking.”
