Waiting for Thoreau

The opening ceremony for the newly named Woodland Eco Culture Centre was held at UBC Okanagan. As a former residential property, the three-suite centre will provide temporary lodgings for visiting artists, writers, poets and academics. An integral part of the long-term agreement signed between UBCO and the Regional District of Central Okanagan, the centre has prime access to the green, leafy and quiet 3.5-hectare parcel of parkland adjacent to the Woodhaven Nature Conservancy Regional Park in the southern Mission neighbourhood of Kelowna.
