Frosh Food on Wheels

The first university-operated food truck in Canada pulled up on the corner of East Mall and University Boulevard, fired up its mobile-kitchen innards and began serving out a seasonal menu, largely sourced from sustainable produce (e.g. from the UBC Farm), with large portions and at student-friendly prices. Operated by UBC Food Services, the inaugural menu of the aptly named Hungry Nomad truck: hot meat sandwiches, including pulled pork, deep-fried cod and natural Angus beef brisket for a wallet-friendly $7 to $8 per.
