Degree of Satisfaction
At UBC Okanagan, the new Randall Findlay Laboratory was dedicated in a special ceremony. The alternative-energy laboratory at the School of Engineering was named in honour of the chief benefactor and UBC alumnus (’73) and his wife Claudia Findlay who made a gift of $225,000 to the School of Engineering; the gift included $125,000 to establish the Randall and Claudia Bursary in Engineering Endowment Fund to directly benefit students enrolled in the school. The endowment was augmented by an additional $30,000 from an anonymous donor. At the ceremony Findlay credited his UBC engineering degree as integral to his career and personal life: “I consider it a privilege to be able to make a contribution to education at UBC.”
