The 2013 Killam Celebration for excellence in teaching was held and 23 UBC faculty were recognized, each receiving a Killam Teaching Prize. Among those recognized: Dr. Dory Nason, assistant professor with the UBC First Nations Studies Program and the Department of English. Nason is Anishinaabe and an enrolled member of the Leech Lake Band of the Minnesota Chippewa tribe. At UBC, she teaches Indigenous Literature and Criticism; Indigenous Theory and Research Methods and; Indigenous Feminism.
