Breaking Bread, Breaking Ground

UBC Okanagan fourth-year Earth and Environmental Science student Jenna Gall pulled together the one-day Food for Thought gathering to address food policy, marketing, water and land use, the Agriculture Land Reserve, the Okanagan wine industry and food poverty in the area. The event attracted 70 influential people, including landowners, regional planners, politicians, policy markers, famers and community leaders. The Tuum Est Student Initiative Fund (TESIF) and the Environment and Sustainability Society provided the $3,500 grant to underpin the event.
